 Hey World,

Just stopping by, waving, and moving on...

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Hey World,

Covid-19

This nasty virus has most of the world on lock down. Highly contagious, some people have no symptoms, some people have mild symptoms, some people die from it.

The Pandemic of 2020. I never thought that I would go through something similar to the Pandemic of 1918.

Crazy times.

Wear your masks that cover your nose and mouth. Wash your hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds. Use sanitizer in-between washing your hands.

DO NOT INJECT OR INGEST SANITIZERS OR DISINFECTANTS.

Stay safe.

Been working full-time for 3 months now. I am so thankful for being employed.

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Hello,
I am now fully unemployed. Now what?

Friday, February 19, 2016

No news...
Still under-employed, and I feel that my current employer has it in for me. May be a good thing if I am forced out. But the prospect of not having any employment is terrible. Let's see where this goes.

So, here I am (again)

Last October was the last month I worked at that "100 Best Places to Work" company. The department I was working in eventually re-wrote the job description three times. And then they finally hired someone...who lasted three days. I get the "call" the same day the employee resigned asking me to return the next day. So I took them up on the offer, still not a full time employee tho'. Full-time hours - temp position.
I went back into the office and cleaned up that employee's mess and finished out the tasks that were not completed. Went back to doing the job and cleaning out the office file space to take in another department's files since "my" office/job was now in charge of those files. (Combining department responsibilities due to the original restructuring) Finished and filed those items away and continued on with doing the job I was hired to do in the first place.
So I was able to put in 6 months before they replaced me again. I guess they found the right person for the job this time as I did not get a call back. That's ok, I am able to cross that company off of my "Company I Wanted to Work for List."

The Burning Continues

So, for the past 2.5 months I have been working at a "top 100 best company" to work for. One month into it, they had a major restructuring. Actually this meant major layoffs. OK, so I made it past the axe. Everything was going well...for a short time. Then, they decide to re-write my job description, and proceed to tell me that I am not qualified for the job. They added responsibilities that I have not been trained for. But those responsibilities are only 1/3 of the job.   I've been doing 100% of the job with no problems. Under this new description, I was doing 2/3 of it. So now you are hiring someone you think will be able to do the job?
You know, you will have to train them on 100% of the job.

Train me on 1/3 of the job or train the new guy on 2/3 of the job. (Hopefully the new guy knows the new 1/3 job requirements)

Yeah, that was a smart move.

=========={ }=========

Yes dear reader(s), they will have to train the new guy on 100% of the job. I know this for two reasons:

1) One of the softwares they use only works under WinXP. It never got an upgrade and according to them, there is no other alternate software to replace it. The odds are great that this person has not used it.

2) My manager tells me that she does not know all of the new responsibilities in this job that she is managing. So she will have to be trained on them.
Why couldn't you just train us together? Hmmm, frustrating.

Changing the rules of the game after I commit to playing it, is not cool.

Anyway, there you have my latest update...unemployed again.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Really? The day before a national holiday, I get a disciplinary action? So here I am at 2:30am, Thanksgiving day, not able to sleep because all I can think about is how I am not doing my job correctly.
Let me give all you bosses out there a little advice: do not give an employee a disciplinary action the day before a four-day holiday weekend...Because all your employee will think about is either how much of a jerk you are or how they can do their job better. Actually, it will probably be both - and is not worth losing sleep over.
I've been working this part-time job for three years. Now they come and tell me how I miss "the details". Of course there are other employees there that do not complete their tasks. When one of them does not do their job correctly, it directly interferes with me getting my job done. I have to do their job, before I do mine. That takes extra time and energy to do this-you see both jobs are physical. So it slows me down and tires me quicker if I have to do things this way. For political reasons, this other employee will never get disciplined. You see, his father is high up in the food chain, so when he cannot get his job done, daddy comes down and instructs the work staff to cover for him - with no extra pay for their time. AND...my boss works for him on side jobs, so he will not say anything either. So...
I already put in more time than I get paid for, now they are adding to my duties again. They are telling me to do things that I was told were NOT my responsibility three years ago. I had verbal agreements where I was told only do certain job duties if I had the time. One of them I got paid extra to do - now they are asking me to do it within the hours I'm given. These extra responsibilities were normally done by volunteers in the past. Now these "items" are too minor to give to volunteers. The volunteers have become too picky, they don't want to do them. So they get left for me to do.

Now some of you non-readers may be saying to yourself, why don't you find another job. I AM LOOKING. I have been looking for full-time employment for over six years. This is the only job that would hire me. This job has allowed me to survive. My management knows this, so this is why they know they can get away with it.
I do know that there are politics working in the background. I am pretty sure there are strings being pulled to make my job so difficult that I will quit. I an so looking forward to quitting, but not until I have another job.

I am no longer happy at my job...there are people with no business being involved in my employment pulling strings to get me fired or seeing how far they can push me.

I have put up with a lot, I will continue the course, I need a new job.

Another let down...

Yes dear non-readers, my latest job prospect failed. I got a second interview for a position within a growing company. It really bites when you prepare for an interview, and within five minutes you realize the job you thought you were interviewing for is different from the one you were told you were interviewing for. This has not been the first time that the rules of the game changed when I get down to the final interviews.
It is such a waste of time for all parties involved when the job description does not contain all of the desired abilities the interviewer wants. I would have not minded so much if this was the initial interview. However when you get to the second or third one, don't add requirements that you did not initially desire. Understand, I have been on the other side of the table. I know that when you get candidates that are equal, you must figure ways to separate out the chaff. Although I have done that, I have never added abilities or changed the description.
And no, I would not want to accept a job where the employer would interview candidates for a position that differs from the posted description. That's a problem with integrity. You want your employees to have integrity, but you don't possess the same qualities?

Anyway, I continue on with my quest.

Good day Zombies,

I have no followers, live followers anyway. I am actually ok with this. So if anyone really cares, it would be a zombie. Only because they would be hunting me down to eat me. Which then would actually be the end of this blog. Not that you cared.
Ok, so I don't update very often. Which is no big deal as I have no (live) followers to be disappointed in me not updating my blog...daily...weekly...monthly...rarely.

So, then why am I posting today? Well, I am on track and waiting for a second interview...for a job. Yes folks, I have finally gotten to a second round interview. This mean I had a first one!! Woo hoo!

Another New Year

So, here we are again blog. I know that I have not been around as much as I had planned. I'm glad you're still here, waiting for me to return. Being patient, like a long lost love in a distant coastal town, who waits for the return of their beloved Captain from a long voyage out to sea. Coming back into a familiar port, looking for those I know and love. The familiarity is there, however things have changed. For good or bad...I don't know. I guess I would know if I spent more time with you, than once a year.

New year, new opportunity. Let's see how long I stay in port or how long my voyage is out to sea.

It's been so long...

Yeah, I'm on it. With it. On top of it. I didn't realize that it had been so long since my last posting. Well, I have been promoted. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (you are out there aren't you?).

I have gone from being chronically unemployed to under-employed. So there has been progress in my employment history. Now If I could just land that opportunity....

TMI

1. Ideal amount of sex per week?
Five

2. Ever had an online affair?
Pass

3. Are you a member of the mile high club?
No, don't like flying.

4. Are you predjudice against any particular group of people?
Yes, rude and inconsiderate ones.

5. What constitutes bad sex?
When either partner does not want to have sex, but does anyway. It's gets pretty obvious about half way through the session, and then when you or your partner says "just get it over with." (And yes, I have stepped up to the plate, and let her just get off on me. Sometimes I am just not in the mood, but I do not want her to go without getting off)

Bonus: Can females ejaculate?
Yes. I love to watch her when she cums and when she is on top, she cums all over me.

Hey female readers, can you do this? If so leave a comment.

Jay O'Brien

What is up with the KNBC issue with programming? Jay Leno's 10pm show just is not doing well in the ratings. So to appease the affiliate stations, the "broadcaster" has to make choices. Just as the choice to put The Jay Leno Show at 10pm, KNBC can move the show to another time slot. It just happens to be the same time slot that Conan O'Brien has. It has become obvious that at KNBC, aka Jeff Zucker, that Jay is the favored child in the battle of late night programing. Funny it just happens to be within the same broadcaster family. Truely, it is not Jay's fault as he is technically an employee of KNBC, and is bound to his contract. Conan, now being shown he is the ugly step-child of KNBC's late night programing, is being moved to follow Jay, the host he is replacing. It appears to me that Conan's once loyal audience did not follow him to the new show and time. So instead of Conan being allowed to build his audience, KNBC will pit Jay and Conan against each other in a incestuous gladiator match. Conan should be the champion pitted against David on KCBS and run the battle that way. Current choices will only ruin KNBC's late night programming and allow David to gain audience share.

Now on the brighter side, Craig Ferguson. He is so hilarious. Wish he was on earlier. Just give him time, he'll become the king of late night.

Jay's show did not make the rating as expected, so what do you do with him? Conan's show did not build the audience as expected. So you keep both, or lose both?

TMI

Would you rather.....

1. Have eyes that always smile or a voice that makes people calm?
Have eyes that always smile. I love eyes that smile.
I have been told my voice is calming, so I am covered there.

2. Have an affair and your partner catches you or your partner have an affair and you catch him/her?
Pass

3. Have better sex or more money?
More money - I can practice to have better sex, but I cannot practice to get more money.
No, winning the lotto does not count
.

4. Be able to read everyone’s mind all the time or always know the future?
Read everyone's mind. I would love to know what the other person actually is thinking when I am talking with them. Not to mention, when I am making love, it would be great to know if I am doing it right. Sometimes I do know, other times I am told I was good, but not so sure it was that good.

5. Your partner have sex with someone else or fall in love with someone else?
Pass

Bonus: What one thing, big or small, would you change in your life if granted one wish by a lamp-bound genie? Why?
Get my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I just saw a job ad for a computer programmer that pays $50 - $60 per hour. That would certainly solve my issue with question #3 above.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Hey my first TMI (yeah I know it's Saturday)

Would you rather.....

1. A relaxing vacation or an adventurous trip?
Adventurous trip - I love to explore, go hiking and such.

2. Get a perfect nights sleep or have amazing sex?
Have amazing sex - afterward I would be so worn out, I'd get a good nights sleep.

3. Be intimate with the lights on or off?
I'm 50/50 on this one - I love to make love in the dark, but being a visual person, I love seeing my wife as I'm doing her.

4. Your S/O be a terrible kisser who could always make you orgasm or an amazing kisser who could never make you orgasm?
Oh, orgasm every time - got to get off. We can always work on being a better kisser, practice makes perfect.

5. Date someone much younger or much older than you?
Younger - Although I'd enjoy making love to Susan Sarandon, Carrie Underwood would just blow my mind.

Bonus: Which reality show would you be good at? Why?
Pimp My Ride - I have an old classic car that needs to be restored badly. Friends of mine have said, "One day you are going to come outside and find just a pool of rust after a rain storm."
